Job summary

Syntron Material Handling Group is seeking an Assembly Technician to assemble and disassemble mechanical components for recycling machinery in a heavy industrial environment. You will read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and ensure proper fit between parts.

The role requires operating a forklift and overhead crane, basic math, and meticulous documentation of procedures. Full-time position in Crown Point, IN with standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Ability to assemble and disassemble various components
• Read blueprints, drawing, measurements and engineering parts lists to determine proper machine assembly
• Safely utilize hand and power tools to aid in mechanical assembly
• Use a file, grinder, sander or other tool to produce proper fit between parts
• Operate a forklift and overhead crane
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Ensure that all procedures are followed and documented as required

Physical Requirements

Heavy industrial environment with mechanical activities requiring personal protective equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand for extended periods of time
• Sit, stoop, bend
• Reach above shoulders
• Lift 50 pounds
