Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies is seeking an Applications Engineer in the United States. The role will bridge engineering design and customer requirements, providing technical expertise, product customization, and application support.

You will collaborate with sales, design, and production teams, analyze customer specs, prepare CAD documents and BOMs, and support customers pre- and post-sale. Strong CAD skills and experience with ERP systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or applications engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and technical sales tools.
• Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, ISO).
• Fundamental knowledge of rotating equipment, shop repair practices, including fabrication, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales, design, and production teams to understand customer needs and develop tailored mechanical solutions.
• Analyze customer specifications and propose suitable product configurations and modifications.
• Prepare technical documentation, including CAD drawings, BOMs, and application reports.
• Provide technical support to customers during pre-sale and post-sale stages, including on-site visits if required.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.
