Job summary

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. in Ohio seeks an Engineering Analyst to support project managers and senior engineers on power plant piping, headers, tubing, turbines and other critical components.

You will help evaluate failure mechanisms, remaining life and inspection priorities while contributing to safe, reliable operations. The role includes SolidWorks modeling, ANSYS/Abaqus analyses, ASME code support and technical reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 0–3 years of engineering experience (internship, co-op, or professional preferred).
  • Interest in mechanical systems, stress analysis and solving complex technical problems.
  • FEA, fracture mechanics, fatigue or heat transfer coursework exposure preferred.
  • Excel knowledge; databases/programming/automation tools a plus.
  • Familiarity with ANSYS, Abaqus and SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; willingness to learn and support tasks.
  • Pursuit of Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering analysis and condition assessment projects for power plant components.
  • Create representative SolidWorks models and drawings of equipment.
  • Perform thermal and structural finite element analyses with ANSYS and Abaqus.
  • Support ASME Code calculations, fitness-for-service evaluations and remaining life assessments.
  • Evaluate component condition and inspection priorities from data and findings.
  • Assist with field assessments at customer sites and nondestructive testing activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and client presentations.
  • Support project execution including data review and coordination with teams.
  • Contribute to process improvement, methodology development and automation.
