Qualifications

• 4 years of mechanical experience as a journeyman mechanic.
• Experience and knowledge of DOT Out-of-Service Criteria.
• Expert knowledge of heavy equipment mechanical components.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs vehicles and heavy landfill equipment.
• Maintains and inspects equipment and vehicles.
• Acts as a lead worker by instructing and directing others.

Skills

Mechanical experience

Knowledge of diesel engines

Basic computer programs

Ability to work any assigned shift

Education

High school diploma or GED

Graduation from mechanical trade school
