Job summary

FLSmidth seeks a Mechanic Welder I in Sioux City, NE to perform welding, grinding and gouging tasks in a safety-conscious environment. The role requires adherence to codes and site procedures, with opportunities to participate in training and develop field personnel.

You will be responsible for welding carbon and stainless steel, cutting with oxy-acetylene, and handling tools and parts as needed, while promoting a strong safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• Promote a safety-first culture through active participation at safety toolbox meetings and site hazard evaluation.
• Welding, grinding, gouging and cutting tasks performed to code/specifications.
• Ability to carry and lift tools, equipment, and parts.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safety first culture by active participation at safety toolbox meetings, continuous evaluation of work site for hazards, use PPE, report near misses and injuries.
• Grind seams, edges, and surface clean-up for weld prep.
• Weld using inner shield and stick processes on carbon and stainless steel plates/shapes to code/specs.
• Gouge weld seams and remove hardware.
• Cut steel parts with oxy-acetylene torch.
• Carry and lift tools, equipment, and parts.
• Adhere to company policies and site procedures.
• Attend required training and develop field personnel.
• Perform special assignments as needed.
