Job summary

New-Leader-Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Production Welder to operate semi-automatic welding equipment and fabricate components for our products. Welds typically in 4”-6” lengths on stainless and carbon steel in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions, with an emphasis on quality and safety.

You will review blueprints, set up parts, perform tack welds, inspect welds, and keep the work area clean while meeting production goals.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Ability to pass required AWS welder qualification tests within first 60 days of employment.
• Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
• Ability to complete welds in various joint configurations.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows-based software (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Ability to read blueprints at a basic level.
• Ability to read a tape measure up to 1/16”
• Good math skills for measurements and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
• Joins and fabricates metal by applying welding techniques.
• Sets up and tack welds parts with or without fixtures or jigs.
• Interprets blueprints to ensure quality welds.
