Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service in Saint Cloud, MN is seeking a Mechanic/Vehicle Technician to diagnose and repair gasoline engines, powertrain components, brakes, steering and suspension, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.

Shifts include Mon-Thu 3:00 PM start or Mon-Fri 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, with a wage range of $20.00–$33.00 per hour plus $2.00 differential. OT paid time-and-a-half after 40 hours; part-time options available.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use scan tool and laptop technology.
• Follow instructions from shift leader.
• Work independently and/or with a team.
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment.
• Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. Job Summary

The Mechanic/Vehicle Technician will diagnose and repair gasoline engines and other powertrain components, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.

Hours and Wages

• Available Shift Times:
  • Monday-Thursday 3:00PM start, Friday 12:00PM Start OR
  • Monday-Friday, 11:00PM-7:30AM
• $20.00-$33.00 per hour, based on experience
  • +$2.00 per hour shift differential
• Occasional Saturdays, as needed for full-time
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Part-time opportunities available with flexible options

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to use scan tool and laptop technology
• Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader
• Ability to work independently and/ or with team
• Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
• Help maintain an effective and clean work environmentMust have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn

Education and Experience

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
• Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
• Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
