Job Title: Traveling Mechanic

Location: Building Zone Industries (BZI), Cedar City, Utah

Job Overview:

Business growth has created a new opportunity for a traveling mechanic. Your home base could be anywhere.

We are looking for a technician/mechanic who has a strong work ethic, wants to work in a team culture, and understands trust and respect. Candidates should have a positive attitude. The technician we are looking for must seek out solutions to tough problems with a strong passion for doing what’s right for our business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Use knowledge & skills to diagnose and fix equipment owned by BZI.
2. Continuously build experience as an equipment mechanic.
3. Complete full, accurate, and honest equipment inspections.
4. Troubleshoot equipment concerns quickly and effectively.
5. Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
6. Work closely with the logistics department and effectively communicate equipment concerns.
7. Collaborate with equipment users to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver distinguished results.

Qualifications:

This position requires travel.

1. Positive attitude and a desire to work in a team environment.
2. 3+ years of experience as an equipment technician/mechanic.
3. ASE Certifications preferred, or a plan to achieve.
4. Capable of diagnosing and repairing all makes/models of equipment.
5. Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes.
6. Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
7. A desire for long-term career development.
8. Ability to begin work at 5:30 a.m.
9. Ability to work Saturdays.

Physical Requirements:

1. Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
2. Ability to work with tools on equipment lifted above head.
3. Work in tight spaces as dictated by the equipment’s needed repair.
4. Have the needed dexterity to efficiently use hand tools.
5. Walk/stand for the majority of the workday.
6. Drive manual transmission equipment.
7. Efficiently navigate a computer.
