Job summary

Recology Oregon Recovery Inc. in Portland seeks a skilled maintenance technician to service and repair company vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and continuous operations.

Under supervision, you will inspect hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems; attend training; and work with drivers to confirm repair effectiveness. The role features a Monday–Friday shift and on-site work in Oregon.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of related experience with hydraulic equipment, welding and light fabrication, and heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, service, and repair vehicles and equipment to keep operations safe and reliable.
  • Repair, dismantle, assemble, and install industrial machinery.
  • Provide systematic safety inspections of vehicles and equipment per state standards.
  • Attend training to upgrade skills as equipment changes.
  • Collaborate with drivers to determine repair needs and verify effectiveness.
  • Assist management in purchasing new equipment and supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Role

Under limited supervision, services, maintains, inspects and repairs vehicles, machinery and/or equipment to assure the safety and on-going operation of all vehicles and equipment in the company.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Schedules, maintains, services and repairs vehicles and equipment to assure the safety and on-going operation of all vehicles and equipment in the company.
  • Repairs, dismantles, assembles, and installs industrial machinery.
  • Provides systematic safety inspection of vehicles and/or equipment to established state standards including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Attends training classes to upgrade skills as the nature and complexity of vehicles and/or equipment change.
  • Works closely with drivers and operators to determine repair requirements as documented on trip reports following through to assure that repair has been effective for the operators.
  • Assists management in the purchase of new equipment or supplies as required.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • One year of related experience including experience with Hydraulic equipment, welding and light fabrication, repair and maintenance of heavy equipment machinery, truck and trailers, and industrial electric systems.
  • Valid Driver's License
