Job summary

Amcor is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect all machines at shift start, verify cycle times, and ensure guarding is in place. The role includes performing PMs, making minor adjustments, and assisting a cross-functional team in a plastics manufacturing setting.

You must have a High School Diploma or GED, own basic tools, and be able to stand for extended periods. Forklift certification is a plus, and the position requires collaboration with Production, QAs, and Engineers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have own set of basic tools.
  • Preferably plastics experience.
  • Able to stand, walk, lift, reach, bend and climb continuously during 12 hour shift.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Read and work from technical manuals.
  • Use math as applied to maintenance work.
  • Follow written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in one of: Industrial Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, EBM, RHB, SBM maintenance and processing.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all machines for proper guarding at start of shift.
  • Identify machine priority level at start of shift.
  • Verify machines run proper cycle times at start of shift.
  • Verify material loading system is not running behind at start of shift and after breaks.
  • Check grinders at start and after breaks.
  • Check hydraulic oil level and temperature at start of shift.
  • Verify machines are not slamming at start of shift.
  • Perform PMs timely and fill PM work orders.
  • Make minor machine adjustments or repairs to correct quality issues.
  • Report parts used immediately for replacements.
  • Changeover equipment and startup equipment; make minor processing adjustments.
  • Record machine issues and submit Downtime Reports.
  • Assist Production, QAs, other Mechanics, Technicians, and Engineer.

  • Must wear long sleeve shirts, pants, steel toe, ear plugs, safety glasses, hard hat, and hair net
