Job summary

Pratt & Whitney at the Columbus Engine Center is seeking a Mechanic to overhaul, repair, and assemble jet engines. You will work in a hands-on, team-based environment to restore engines to peak performance and reliability on a Friday–Sunday weekend shift (6:30am–7:00pm).

You will perform maintenance on turbine engines and components, following published data, and use tools and fixtures while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred: aviation engine overhaul and repair experience.
• A&P License or Powerplant Certificate is desirable.
• Hands-on experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team on turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance per instructions and data.
• Use hand tools and fixtures to assemble/disassemble and test a jet engine.
• Ensure work meets Safety, Quality, and Delivery objectives and undergo self/peer inspection when required.

Job Summary:

Join Pratt & Whitney at our Columbus Engine Center, where precision meets purpose. As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. Working in a hands‑on, team‑driven environment, you’ll apply your mechanical expertise to ensure engines are restored to peak performance, safety, and reliability. This is a Weekend Shift position: Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 7:00 pm

What You Will Do:

Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data. Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine. Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self‑inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards. Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience
• Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate
• Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP
