Job Summary:
To provide for the maintenanceand repair of GreyStone Power Fleet vehicles and equipment in a safe and properoperating condition.
*2nd Shift Hours - Monday - Thursday 2p-10:30p and Friday 9a-5:30p
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanic I
- Performs frequent & periodic inspections to Light,Medium and Heavy-Duty vehicles and Electric Utility Equipment as part of thepreventive maintenance program as directed.
- Identifies maintenance or repair needs with vehicles andequipment and makes the necessary mechanical repairs as directed.
- Performs preventative maintenance service work on allLight, Medium and Heavy-Duty vehicles and equipment including changing oil,lubrication, tire work, brake repair, etc.
- Performs Annual DOT inspections to Medium and Heavy-Dutytrucks, air and electric brake trailers as directed, providing requireddocumentation for files and vehicles.
- Makes minor road service calls when necessary.
- Performs repairs to electronic systems as directed.
- Replaces engine and equipment components as directed.
- Tunes engines and performs 5 gas exhaust emissionsanalysis to LP gas powered equipment.
- Performs minor welding and fabrication as necessary:safely operating gas and arc welding equipment.
- Checks for presence of all necessary parts and materialsbefore beginning repair or rebuild work, requisitioning missing parts andmaterial for timely purchase.
- Performs complete operational testing of light and mediumdutyvehicles and equipment complyingwith all safety standards and manufacturer’s instructions before completion.
- Prepares written record of all maintenance and repairsperformed, carefully completing time sheets, service order forms, and any otherdocument required to properly record work.
- Maintains personal tools as required.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
- Assists with receiving parts and material, placingmaterial in stockroom and disposing of shipping and packing material.
Mechanic II
- Performs frequent &periodic inspections to Light, Medium and Heavy-Duty vehicles and ElectricUtility Equipment as part of the preventive maintenance program.
- Identifies maintenance orrepair needs with vehicles and equipment and makes the necessary mechanicalrepairs as directed.
- Performs preventativemaintenance service work on all Light, Medium and Heavy-Duty vehicles andequipment including changing oil, lubrication, tire work, brake repair, etc.
- Performs Annual DOTinspections to Medium and Heavy-Duty trucks, air and electric brake trailers,providing required documentation for files and vehicles.
- Makes breakdown roadservice and wreck recovery calls when necessary.
- Performs diagnostics andrepairs to electronic systems using scan tools and test meters as directed.
- Performs diagnostics andrepairs to hydraulic systems, fabricating hose assemblies and rebuildinghydraulic cylinders as directed.
- Replaces engines,transmissions and drive train components as directed.
- Tunes engines andperforms 5 gas exhaust emissions analysis to LP gas powered equipment.
- Performs welding andfabrication as necessary: safely operating gas and arc welding equipment.
- Performs Monthly, Annualand Major Maintenance Interval Inspections, Dielectric Testing andRe-certifications on Aerial Devices and Digger Derrick trucks as directed.
- Performs completeequipment teardown Rebuilds on Aerial Devices and Digger Derricks boomassemblies as directed.
- Checks for presence ofall necessary parts and materials before beginning repair or rebuild work,ordering or requisitioning missing parts and material for timely purchase.
- Performs completeoperational testing of light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipmentcomplying with all safety standards and manufacturer’s instructions beforecompletion.

- Provides technicalassistance to Mechanic-I's
- Coordinates the repair ofvehicles by outside vendors as directed.
- Receives after hourtrouble calls from crew members and performs emergency repairs.
- Coordinates wrecker ortowing services.
- 24. Recommends thereplacement of GreyStone vehicles.
Mechanic III
- Performsfrequent & periodic inspections to Light, Medium and Heavy-Duty vehiclesand Electric Utility Equipment as part of the preventive maintenance program.
- Identifiesmaintenance or repair needs with vehicles and equipment and makes the necessarymechanical repairs.
- Performspreventative maintenance service work on all Light, Medium and Heavy-Dutyvehicles and equipment including changing oil, lubrication, tire work, brakerepair, etc.
- PerformsAnnual DOT inspections to Medium and Heavy-Duty trucks, air and electric braketrailers, providing required documentation for files and vehicles.

- Performsstructural welding and fabrication as necessary: proficiently operating gas andarc welding equipment.
- PerformsMonthly, Annual and Major Maintenance Interval Inspections, Dielectric Testingand Re-certifications on Aerial Devices and Digger Derrick trucks.
- Performscomplete equipment teardown Rebuilds on Aerial Devices and Digger Derricks boomassemblies.
- PerformsAerial Device and Digger Derrick equipment assembly transfers to new chassiscabs.
- Modifieschassis wheelbase as needed to accommodate equipment transfers.
- Checksfor presence of all necessary parts and materials before beginning repair orrebuild work, ordering or requisitioning missing parts and material for timelypurchase.
- Performscomplete operational testing oflight,medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment complying with all safetystandards and manufacturer’s instructions before completion.
- Prepareswritten record of all maintenance and repairs performed, carefully completingtime sheets, service order forms, and any other document required to properlyrecord work.
- Maintainspersonal tools as required.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Mechanic I
- High school Diploma or GED.
- Requires two years’ experience in vehiclemaintenance and mechanic work. Auto shop at the high school or tech schoollevel may be substituted for the two years’ work experience.
- Must have theability to operate vehicle shop equipment.
- Must have the physical dexterity to handle a varietyof mechanical tools.
- Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Must satisfactorily pass GreyStone Power’semployment/DOT physical examination, criminal background and required drugscreen.
Mechanic II
- Highschool Diploma or GED.
- Requires5 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and mechanic work, or 3 years as aMechanic I at GreyStone Power.
- Musthave the ability to operate vehicle shop equipment.
- Musthave physical dexterity to handle a variety of mechanical tools.
- Experiencein medium/heavy truck mechanics and equipment hydraulic systems preferred.
- Mustpossess or acquire one “Master” level tested certification. (e.g., TechnicalCollege Diploma, ASE Master, Fluid Power, AWS Welding, or equivalents.)
- Mustpossess or acquire DOT Inspection Certification and a valid Georgia CommercialDriver’s License.
- Mustsatisfactorily pass GreyStone Power’s employment/DOT physical examination,criminal background and required drug screen.
Mechanic III
- Highschool Diploma or GED.
- Requireseight years’ experience in vehicle maintenance and mechanic work; or threeyears as a Mechanic II at GreyStone Power.
- Musthave the ability to operate vehicle shop equipment.
- Musthave the physical dexterity to handle a variety of mechanical tools.
- Experiencein medium/heavy truck mechanics and equipment hydraulic systems preferred.
- Musthave two “Master” level tested certifications. (e; ; Technical CollegeDiploma, ASE Master, Fluid Power, AWS Welding, or equivalents.)
- RequiresDOT Inspection Certification and a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License.
- Mustsatisfactorily pass GreyStone Power’s employment/DOT physical examination,criminal background and required drug screen.
Physical Demands (if applicable):
- General truck shopenvironment, working while standing most of the day.
- Requires lifting,pulling, and pushing 50 to 150 pounds multiple times per day.
- Climbing on trucks andequipment, bending, kneeling, and reaching with hands and arms, levering withlarge wrenches and pry bars.
- Exposed to exhaust fumes,sanding dust, paint fumes and other garage related chemicals.
- Some field work in mud,rain, and snow as needed to repair vehicles or equipment that have broken down.
- Requires the flexibilityto be called to work in company defined disaster situations.Could be required to work any shift.
