Job summary

OSI Careers in Morristown, IN is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to proactively maintain machinery and equipment through preventive/predictive maintenance. This on-site, full-time role focuses on ensuring reliable operations.

You will install and service equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and perform welding as needed. A HS diploma/GED is required; an associate degree is preferred, with 2-3 years experience.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic/electrician.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance fundamentals and electrical power.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience with gas, arc, and TIG welding.
• Familiar with air compressors, pumps, boilers, and related equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in heights or confined spaces.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing and servicing equipment using hand tools.
• Respond to service calls promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Move components using hoists, dollies, or other equipment.
• Update daily work communications.
• Maintain tools, powered vehicles, and equipment; keep parts organized.

• Follow safety, GMPs, and environment requirements.
• Execute job orders and keep records.
• Participate in RCA.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and repairs.

Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for proactively maintaining the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive/predictive maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in installing and service different pieces of equipment, using required self-supplied and company-supplied hand tools.

Answer calls for service in a timely manner .

Perform assigned preventive maintenance task.

Moving and raising components using hoists, dollies, or other provided equipment.

Updating daily work communications.

Maintain tools, powered vehicles, and equipment; keep parts and supplies in order.

Responsible for a clean and hazard free work area throughout the entire day.

Use and maintain safety equipment on job sites.

Other duties as business needs.

Ability to follow applicable safety and environment requirements, food safety, GMP’s.

Execute job order assignments and keep accurate job order records.

Participate in RCA’s.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Assist members in all grade levels with troubleshooting.

Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.

Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs.

Experience & Skills

2-3 years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic/ electrician.

Solid understanding of maintenance fundamentals and electrical power.

Solid understanding of mechanical concepts and electrical controls.

Must be able to read and understand various methods of mechanical and other technical drawings.

Basic knowledge on the correct use and care of various tools used in maintenance work.

Must be able to follow procedures as outlined in equipment manufacturer's maintenance manual.

Basic knowledge on how to gas, arc, and/or TIG weld.

Basic knowledge of diagnosing equipment failures and correcting them.

Should be familiar with air compressors, various pumps, boilers, and other common mechanical equipment.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent of a GED or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through on the job training or experience.

An associate degree in mechanical and/or industrial engineering preferred but not required .

Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for long periods of time.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for short distances.

Comfortable working with heights and confined spaces.

Comfortable working in non -climate-controlled environment.
