The position requires:

3. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in enclosed work areas.

5. Experience in electronic diesel engine maintenance, including engines from Caterpillar, International, Cummings, and automotive engines.
6. Tools to bring to the job site.
7. Valid Indiana driver's license and eligibility for a Class A PS CDL license.
8. Ability to operate all vehicles and equipment used in the transportation department, such as vehicle lifts, welding, tire repair, tow trucks, etc.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
10. Experience in maintaining school buses, both chassis and body, preferred.
11. Knowledge of school bus standards and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Recording parts usage and maintaining parts logs and inventory.
• Performing vehicle inspections per Indiana State Police guidelines.
• Assisting mechanics and maintaining good relationships with drivers and employees.
• System repairs on brakes, transmissions, electrical, cooling, and carburetion systems.
• Maintaining maintenance records.
• Installing and maintaining transportation video and GPS equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
