The position requires:

- Experience in electronic diesel engine maintenance, including engines from Caterpillar, International, Cummings, and automotive engines.

- Valid Indiana driver's license and eligibility for a Class A PS CDL license.
- Ability to operate all vehicles and equipment used in the transportation department, such as vehicle lifts, welding, tire repair, tow trucks, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Experience in maintaining school buses, both chassis and body, preferred.
- Knowledge of school bus standards and inspection requirements.
- Positive work attitude and good interactions with colleagues.
- Safe work habits.
Responsibilities include:
- Recording parts usage and maintaining parts logs and inventory.
- Performing vehicle inspections per Indiana State Police guidelines.
- Assisting mechanics and maintaining good relationships with drivers and employees.
- System repairs on brakes, transmissions, electrical, cooling, and carburetion systems.
- Maintaining maintenance records.
- Installing and maintaining transportation video and GPS equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
