FLANDERS Inc. is seeking a Mechanic I for the 2nd Shift High Bay team in Evansville, IN. The role involves disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling electromechanical motors and equipment, with initial training on 1st shift.

You will read work scopes, document results, and perform basic testing to ensure quality standards are met. The candidate should have a high school diploma, 1–3 years in industrial assembly, and be proficient in reading drawings and adhering to safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical assembly preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in industrial assembly, preferably in motor or electrical equipment manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Good understanding of safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble basic and routine electromechanical motors and equipment, noting parts identification, configuration, and condition.
• Read work scope to determine job status, authorizations, and expected serviceability; document accordingly.
• Properly mark parts, take photos, and thoroughly complete paperwork to meet ISO standards.
• Assemble basic and routine motors and equipment including ball and roller bearings.
• Pre-test electrical and mechanical systems and ensure proper lubrication per standards.
• Troubleshoot known or suspected problems and document results.
• Operate electrical testing instruments (Megger, VOM) as needed on jobs.
• Read and draw diagrams of motors and parts; maintain clean, organized work areas.
