Job summary

Interface, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic 1 to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems, upgrade equipment, and support plant and facilities maintenance. The role covers HVAC, pumps, boilers, gearboxes and other drive systems, with a focus on safety and environmental compliance.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED (technical training preferred), a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a PIT license. Welding, machining and fabrication skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED; technical school certificate preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical craft and familiarity with HVAC, pumps, boilers, gearboxes, buildings and drive systems.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving history; ability to obtain PIT license as required.
  • Welding/fabrication and machining skills are highly valued (mig/arc welding; lathe/mill).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Train others of lesser skill level.
  • Estimate, procure parts, modify and install mechanical equipment.
  • Drive company truck to Interface locations and suppliers.
  • Comply with safety rules and environmental regulations; follow ISO procedures.
