Job summary

ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC seeks a maintenance technician to respond to trouble calls and emergencies, secure situations, and perform repairs within capacity. The role also handles routine preventive maintenance and supports in other duties using common hand tools.

You will document actions using IPAD, assist with PM tasks, and participate in weekend shift rotation. The job emphasizes teamwork, safety, and quality control in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED.
  • 1 year but less than 2 years of formal training or education is required.
  • Substitute year for year up to 2 years for applicable education.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to Work Request, proceeds to location of trouble; troubleshoots to determine the nature of the problem, makes repairs as necessary documenting action taken in TMS, by use of IPAD.
  • Maintains equipment by responding to Work Request, direction of supervisior or discovering issues through routine checks and inspections of assigned areas.
  • Responds to emergency situations, including fire alarms, elevator failures and equipment failures.
  • Participates in weekend Shift rotatation support.
  • Obtains scheduled assigned preventative maintenance. Perfoms work as indicated on PM task for, designated equipment, systems, or building components. Documents actions taken , recording equipment history and time charges utilizing IPAD. Reports all changes of PM data to the Quality Control Technition.
  • Utiliizes all hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, nut drivers, sockets, hand power tools, including drills and saws. Operates drill presses, torches and grinders. Utilizes tap and die sets, specialty drill bits, extractors, rivet and staple guns and other related tools. Utilizes step ladders, extension ladd ers and man lifts. Performs task utilizing dollies, hand trucks and pallet jacks.

Position Summary

If necessary, they will arrange for a higher level mechanic to respond when appropriate. This position will also perform routine preventative maintenance and make repairs within their capacity. Assist in maintenance, use common hand tools, clean area and perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

$21.53 - $31.38

Other Information

Shift Expectation: Monday-Friday 2nd shift 2:30pm-11:00pm; possible coverage for weekends
