Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting or repairing systems within the hospital (i.e., electrical, plumbing, painting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, oxygen, medical gases) and for general repair of all types of equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic should have special knowledge and training in the care, repair and operating of specialized equipment such as x-ray processors, emergency generators, air compressors, diesel engines, boilers, and chill systems. Also, will assist with fixture repair and other facilities tasks related to general repair and upkeep of the hospital.

Education
High school, trade or vocation school graduate required. Completion of special equipment repair school preferred.
Licensure/Certification

Experience
Prior experience in facility maintenance or construction preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Valid NC Driver's License: Yes
If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
