Job summary

Goodwill Industries of South Florida seeks a hands-on maintenance assistant to support sewing equipment. You will lubricate machines, install needle protectors, and perform other assigned tasks to keep production running smoothly.

You will perform preventive maintenance, record keeping, and installation of safety equipment, and collaborate with a small maintenance team to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Does preventive maintenance on equipment (i.e., change oil, blow motors, adjust machines, clean machines, check times)
• Record keeping – records equipment preventive maintenance by keeping logs on maintenance performed. Install safety equipment, such as needle protectors and guards.
• All other duties as assigned.

Summary:

Assists mechanics by performing the primary function of sewing equipment maintenance, such as lubricating equipment, installing needle protectors, and performing other assigned tasks.
