MLGW is seeking a Mechanic Helper to support Fleet Technicians in performing maintenance and repairs on Division vehicles and equipment. The position requires basic automotive knowledge and a valid driver's license with potential Class A CDL within the probationary period.
Responsibilities include assisting with tune-ups, oil changes, tire/brake checks, and electrical work such as batteries, starters, and lights.

Mechanic Helper will assist the Fleet Technician in making repairs and performing preventative maintenance inspections on Division vehicles and equipment.

A valid driver's license from state of residence.
Must obtain a valid Class A Commercial driver's license from state of residence within trial or probationary period after entering classification.
Certification from a vocational school, technical institute or automotive program is preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous experience as a Mechanic helper or a similar role is required.
Must successfully complete Physical Abilities Test.
Must successfully complete Placement/Performance Exercises.
Physical Demands: Work inside and outside of shop, exposed to irritation from gasoline, oil and solvents; subject to standing for extended periods, climbing, noise, dust and dirt. Shift work required. Requires heavy lifting/carrying up to 100lbs. Knowledge of vehicle repair, excellent mechanical skills, ability to follow instructions and use power and hand tools. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, ability to read service and repair manuals. Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Knowledge of vehicle repair.
