Job summary

Wyo-Ben, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic Helper to join our Magnet Cove Bentonite Plant in Greybull, WY. You will support field oiling, lubrication, and maintenance of heavy mining equipment and haul trucks in an outdoor environment.

Qualified candidates have a mechanical aptitude, CDL with endorsements or are willing to earn one within 6 months, and a safety-conscious approach. We offer a strong benefits package and growth opportunities in a growing, family-owned company.

Qualifications

• CDL with endorsements for doubles, tankers, and hazmat required.
• Welding certification may be required.
• 6 months to 1 year of preventative maintenance experience preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment.
• Basic welding and metalworking skills.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Strong communication and recordkeeping abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, fueling, and inspections on mine equipment.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and haul trucks.
• Identify and repair electrical issues, hydraulic hose failures, and oil leaks.
• Use computer diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Perform welding and basic fabrication work as needed.
• Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and PMs.
• Communicate maintenance needs and safety concerns to supervisors and team members.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and environmentally responsible work area.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.

• Mechanic positions require a CDL with endorsements for doubles, tankers, and hazmat. If you have preventative maintenance experience but not a CDL, we’ll pay for you to earn it within 6 months of hire.

We are seeking a Mechanic Helper to serve as a field oiler/lube technician while assisting with the repair and maintenance of heavy mining equipment, haul trucks, and facilities. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys working outdoors, troubleshooting equipment, and learning new skills in a mining environment.

What You'll Do

Working Conditions

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions


• Regular exposure to dust, noise, machinery, and mobile equipment


• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing


• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
