Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a skilled shop mechanic to repair and maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment across multiple locations. The role requires troubleshooting prowess, independence, and a strong safety mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Travel to company sites will be required for on-site repairs and equipment support. A valid driver’s license and bilingual English/Spanish abilities are essential, with opportunities to lead shop activities and coordinate with vendors as needed.

Qualifications

  • Mechanic or equipment maintenance experience required.
  • Experience with trucks, small engines, trailers, and construction equipment preferred.
  • Shop lead or shop management experience preferred.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain Company trucks, tools, trailers, and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Work on small engines, pickup trucks, and construction equipment.
  • Manage day-to-day shop operations and keep the shop clean, safe, and organized.
  • Prioritize repairs and keep equipment ready for the field.
  • Track maintenance, repairs, parts, and equipment needs.
  • Order parts and work with outside vendors when needed.
  • Communicate repair status and equipment issues with supervisors and crews.
  • Travel to Company locations and jobsites as required for repairs, maintenance, and equipment support.
  • Follow all Company safety procedures.
  • Help with other shop and field needs as assigned.

Key Responsibilities



  • Repair and maintain Company trucks, tools, trailers, and equipment

  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Dependable, organized, and safety-focused

  • Valid driver's license

  • Must be willing and able to travel as required

  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish

  • Able to lift and handle tools, parts, and equipment as needed


Salary Range



  • $28.00- $32.00, depending on position qualifications, job related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
