Job summary

Opti Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Diesel/Heavy Duty Mechanic in Anchorage, Alaska. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy equipment in a busy shop environment.

The role requires 2+ years of diesel/heavy equipment experience, own tools, and strong troubleshooting skills. CDL is a plus but not required; lifting 50+ lbs is expected, with standard shop duties and safety protocols observed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of diesel/heavy equipment mechanic experience.
  • Own tools (shop provides specialty/heavy tools)
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with heavy equipment such as semi trucks, construction equipment, or agricultural equipment.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL a plus, not required).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop/outdoor environment.
  • Good attitude and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, transmissions, and heavy equipment.
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, inspections).
  • Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Reading and interpreting technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Welding and fabricating repairs as needed.
  • Keeping accurate maintenance logs and repair records.
  • Following all safety protocols and keeping a clean, organized work area.

Opti Staffing Group is looking for an experienced Diesel/Heavy Duty Mechanic to join a busy shop [in/near location]. If you know your way around heavy equipment, trucks, and diesel engines and want steady work with a company that values good mechanics, this could be your next gig.
