Alaska Marine Trucking in Anchorage, AK is hiring a swing-shift Mechanic to maintain heavy‑duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts. The role runs 4:00pm–2:00am with a $3.00/hr shift differential, offering career growth, benefits, overtime, and a discretionary bonus program.

Qualifications

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to travel for short periods and work in outside weather conditions.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, chemicals, or wet/humid conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance on heavy-duty equipment such as tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
• Assist with major component swaps like hydraulic pumps, engines and transmissions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card).

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide maintenance on heavy‑duty equipment, ie: tractors, trailers, forklifts, etc.

• Must be able to apply and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card).
• Perform inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet, and/or humid conditions and occasionally works in high, precarious places.
