Mechanic, Class 8

As a Mechanic, Class 8, you will be responsible for building, rebuilding, and repairing all parts of company equipment based on departmental needs.

Essential Functions & Requirements:

  • Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices.
  • Build, rebuild, and repair all parts of company equipment as required.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic breakdowns or failures.
  • Read and interpret precision instruments such as voltmeters, multimeters, and calibrators.
  • Perform general equipment maintenance.
  • Use basic MIG welding of steel and aluminum for repairs when applicable.
  • Operate equipment for repair and installation tasks.
  • Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and permits.
  • Support the team with additional duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in truck trailer maintenance (required)
  • Chauffer's License (required)
  • CDL (preferred)

Competencies:

  • Ability to work safely and alertly
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of truck systems
  • Understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record checks
  • Reliable attendance
