Job summary

American Boring INC is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles and machinery, including tractor-trailers, construction equipment, hydraulics, and diesel engines. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and efficient fleet operations in a hybrid work setting.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot hydraulic and air brake systems, fabricate parts, and document repairs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, diesel engines, and mechanical repair procedures
• Experience working on heavy equipment, trailers, and construction machinery preferred
• Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding/fabrication tools
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid Driver’s License preferred
• CDL License preferred
• Mechanical certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and parts usage
• Work closely with operators and management to minimize equipment downtime
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractor-trailers, construction equipment, hydraulic systems, and diesel-powered machinery.
