Job summary

Camp.us in Lancaster, Ohio is seeking a Construction Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, service, and repair heavy equipment, including diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, and computer controls. You will work on-site with a team, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment systems (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic).
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service and repair heavy equipment including mechanical and electronic controls, air brake systems, transmissions, and pneumatic systems.
  • Review fleet safety issues and participate in safety-related discussions.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance: lubrications, oil changes, and failure analysis.
  • Conduct routine brake inspections/adjustments on commercial vehicles per DOT requirements.
  • Create legible work orders detailing repairs and services performed.

Job description

Construction Fleet Mechanic for our Lancaster Ohio Location

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnose, service and repair various systems that are found on pieces of heavy equipment such as mechanical and computer electronic controls, air brake systems, transmissions, computer controlled automatic and manual transmissions, and pneumatic systems.
  • Participate in the review of some operational and mechanical safety related issues associated with the fleet including.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis.
  • Perform routine brake inspections/ adjustments on commercial vehicles following Federal DOT requirements.
  • Create work orders on repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for work performed.
  • Coordinate with location supervisor and review Pre-Trip truck inspections to prioritize work accordingly.
  • Input daily repair reports into software-based tracking program.
  • Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure adherence to preventative vehicle maintenance policies and practices.
  • Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches and welding equipment.
  • Order parts from approved vendors and drive Company pick-up/repair truck to pick up parts when needed.
