Job summary

Pave America is seeking a dependable Mechanic Assistant in Albuquerque, NM to support our maintenance team with servicing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. This role is ideal for someone with basic mechanical aptitude who wants to expand skills under experienced technicians.

You will assist with inspections, oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs, and parts preparation, while keeping shop areas organized and safe. Must have your own tool set and a valid driver1 license.

Qualifications

• Prior automotive or equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Must be able to lift 500-75 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Valid driver1 license required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work long hours including weekends and evenings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with inspections, maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs and fluid checks.
• Clean and organize the shop, work areas and tools.
• Prepare parts, materials and tools for repairs.
• Help with equipment moves and deliveries as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Operate hand tools and power tools under supervision.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
• Assist with inventory counts and ordering supplies.
• Must have their own set of tools.

Key Responsibilities
