Job summary

James Hardie Building Products Inc. is seeking a plant maintenance mechanic to support predictive and preventative maintenance across our continuous-operation facility.

You will repair and maintain machinery such as bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, pumps, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance and at least 5 years of heavy industrial millwright experience, with a proven eye for detail and root-cause analysis in a fast-paced 24/7

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical/millwright experience in a 24/7 plant.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up.
• Knowledgeable of root cause analysis techniques.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery.
• Identify sources of problems by observing equipment in operation and using measuring instruments.
• Remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
• Maintain equipment and inventories of parts and supplies.

As the plant maintenance mechanic reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be a key member of the Maintenance team. You will be responsible for all tasks related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Tasks include repair and maintenance of all machinery and equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintains production and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; safely using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories
• Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• At least 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical and millwright experience in a continuous operating (24/7) manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail and continual diligence about follow-up.
• Knowledgeable of root cause and fault free analysis techniques
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
