James Hardie is seeking a plant maintenance mechanic in Tacoma to ensure reliable operation of conveyors, pumps, and other equipment around a 24/7 manufacturing site.

Qualifications

  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; safely use hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.

Summary

As the plant maintenance mechanic reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be a key member of the maintenance team. Responsibilities include predictive and preventive maintenance programs for machinery and equipment, such as bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least five years of heavy industrial mechanical and millwright experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

As of the date of this posting, the estimated pay scale for this position is $37.60 to $47.99 per hour. Placement depends on experience, skills, geography and internal equity. The role qualifies for benefits and eligibility for a bonus plan. Benefits include:
