Job summary

James Hardie in Pulaski, VA is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join the Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will perform predictive and preventive maintenance on heavy industrial equipment to keep production running.

You will repair machinery like bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, pumps, and hydraulic systems, maintain inventories, and support continuous 24/7 operations in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• At least 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical and millwright experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail and continual diligence about follow-up.
• Knowledgeable of root cause and fault free analysis techniques
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

As the plant maintenance mechanic reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be a key member of the Maintenance team. You will be responsible for all tasks related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Tasks include repair and maintenance of all machinery and equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; safely using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools
