Versatex is seeking a Maintenance Technician D Crew for a 6:45PM–7:00AM rotating schedule on a 2/2/3 shift pattern in a 24/7 manufacturing setting. You will diagnose, repair, and prevent downtime across electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, the ability to work independently, and strong root-cause analysis skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work independently with limited direction.
  • Strong history of troubleshooting industrial equipment in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency with electrical & electronic systems, motor controllers, VFDs, relays, sensors.
  • Experience navigating PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting (programming not required).

Responsibilities

  • Independently diagnose and repair equipment issues with focus on minimizing downtime.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures on complex industrial equipment.
  • Utilize VFDs, motor control systems, HMIs, and PLC logic (Allen-Bradley) for troubleshooting purposes.

  • Lead by example on 6S expectations and uptime improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and fellow maintenance techs.

Description

Hours: 6:45PM to 7AM on a 2/2/3 rotating schedule!

Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair (Primary Responsibility)

Independently diagnose and repair equipment issues with a focus on minimizing downtime.

Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures on complex industrial equipment.

Utilize VFDs, motor control systems, HMIs, and PLC logic (Allen-Bradley preferred) for troubleshooting purposes.

Production Line Support

Maintain and improve production line performance through rapid response to equipment failures.

Reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and prevent repeat failures through strong root-cause analysis.

Work autonomously to plan, prioritize, and complete work orders per shift.

Maintain an 85%+ on-time completion rate for assigned work orders.

Preventative & Predictive Maintenance

Own scheduled PM tasks, ensuring completion and accuracy.

Identify risks before breakdowns occur and recommend improvements to prevent recurring issues.

Support reliability efforts, contributing to reduced unplanned downtime.

Lead by example on 6S expectations and uptime improvement initiatives.

Contribute to TPM activities and equipment health checks.

Support improvement projects that increase throughput, speed, or reliability.

Commission equipment after maintenance, ensuring smooth and accurate startup with minimal adjustments required.

Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and fellow maintenance techs.

Share knowledge with team members and help elevate best practices across shifts.

Experience & Autonomy

Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (required).

Technical Skills

Proficiency with:

Welding experience (stick or wire) is a plus.

Capable of diagnosing complex problems without escalation.

Solid mathematical aptitude applied to maintenance and troubleshooting.

Comfortable in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and safety.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs+ and maneuver large, heavy equipment.

Must be able to stand for long periods and work in varying temperature environments.

Ability to wear PPE at all times.

Must pass a Physical Abilities Test.

Education & Certifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Technical training, two-year maintenance certification, or trade school background is preferred.

Forklift experience required (must complete Return Polymers forklift certification).

Welding certifications are a plus.
