Qualifications

• 3-4 years experience in repair and service of trailers and medium-duty trucks.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

Welder / Trailer Mechanic Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
• Perform annual/systematic 90-day and HM-183 inspections (trailers) on equipment as required.
• Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.
• Operate a yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop as needed.
• Order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
• Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards, including proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
• Use welding equipment.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Perform HM-183 DOT inspections (P,V,I,K,L,HS,UC) (EPA-M27).

Required Skills & Abilities

• At least 3-4 years of experience in repair and service of trailers and medium-duty trucks.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles, and repair related to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules, and regulations.
• Ability to use vehicle diagnostic software.
• Experience operating welding equipment (TIG) with R-stamp Certification.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. completion.
