Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a variety of equipment, including aerial work platforms and general construction tools. Work is in a fast-paced environment focused on safety and reliability.

High school diploma or GED required; 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel or heavy equipment preferred; opportunity to advance within a growing national company with competitive benefits and extensive on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
• The role involves working in a safety-focused environment with a diverse team.
• Fleet varies by location and typically includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment; large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment at some locations.
