Mechanic Supervisor A

The overall function of this position is performing a full range of repairs on a variety of makes and models of heavy and light construction equipment, passenger vehicles, medium duty trucks, and small engine equipment in District 08. The employee is responsible for inspecting equipment, diagnosing mechanical problems, and determine best course of repair in the District.
This is a hands‑on field role that requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and strong documentation skills.
One year of experience or training as a mechanic.

Additional compensation may be considered impart with extraordinary qualifications in accordance with State Civil Service Rules and DOTD policy.
Vacancies may be filled as Mechanic 1, 2, or 3 based on qualifications and agency needs.
This position may be filled as either a probational appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency‑wide permanent status employees); or by detail to special duty.
