Reliance, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Wheel Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair heavy industrial equipment across our facilities in Virginia.

You will keep forklifts, yard trucks, loaders, and other wheeled assets running safely and with minimal downtime, supporting our operations and logistics teams. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain thorough service records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, or industrial vehicle mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and basic computer systems.
• Commitment to working safely and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on forklifts, yard mules, loaders, and other heavy wheeled equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safety and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report service activity in the maintenance management system.
• Replace, balance, and repair tires, wheels, and related assemblies.
• Coordinate with operators and supervisors to schedule repairs with minimal impact to operations.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
• Assist with the maintenance of related equipment such as attachments, batteries, and chargers.
• Other duties as requested.

Function in the Job

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

• Familiarity with propane, electric, and diesel-powered equipment.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $32.00/Hr. - USD $35.00/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
