D&D Elevator Maintenance is part of American Elevator Group (AEG), the largest independent elevator service company in North America, operating across the United States. Backed by Arcline Investment Management, AEG is rapidly growing. We are seeking an experienced Mechanic in the New York Metro area to provide top-quality service.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform elevator installation and modernization, testing safety features such as speed, leveling, and emergency systems.
  2. Install and replace electronic control panels, switches, relays, motors, and related equipment.
  3. Inspect and maintain hoist motors, machinery, doors, cables, hydraulic buffers, pumps, brakes, rails, and guides.
  4. Read blueprints to determine system layout and equipment needs.
  5. Assemble elevator cars, including installing platforms, walls, and doors.
  6. Connect electrical wiring to control panels and motors.
  7. Test installed equipment for compliance with elevator codes.
  8. Troubleshoot malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems.
  9. Dismantle components to replace defective parts using hoists, ladders, and tools.
  10. Ensure elevator safety and functionality through repairs and maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Modernization or Construction elevator mechanic.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Experience with on-site installation, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
  • State and/or city issued Mechanic’s license.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or technical school in elevator repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and at heights.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Work Environment & Hazards:
  • Work in various settings including commercial, hospital, airport, and residential buildings.
  • Potential hazards include electrical shock, falls, and chemical exposure.
Physical Demands:
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, stand for prolonged periods.
