Job summary

United Sweeping LLC in Tampa, FL is seeking a Diesel & Hydraulic Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered equipment and hydraulic systems on our sweeping fleet. You will service trucks, loaders, and sweepers, perform inspections, and ensure safe, efficient operation.

The role requires 3+ years of diesel or hydraulic experience; ASE certification or equivalent is preferred, along with ability to read manuals and interpret schematics. CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or hydraulic technician
  • ASE certification or equivalent preferred
  • Proficiency in hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and heavy equipment maintenance
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and schematics
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and computer-based software

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems and diesel-powered equipment including trucks, loaders, and sweepers
  • Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot complex diesel engine and hydraulic issues
  • Use diagnostic tools to assess performance and determine repairs
  • Replace or repair pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and hoses as needed
  • Perform oil changes, brake inspections, and routine maintenance
  • Ensure repairs meet industry standards and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and maintenance schedules
  • Communicate progress and issues with the team
  • Adhere to safety protocols and keep a clean, organized workspace

UNITED SWEEPING IS HIRING A DIESEL & HYDRAULIC FLEET MECHANIC

PAY : $25-$32/HR


Job Overview:


  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems and diesel-powered equipment, including but not limited to
    trucks, loaders, and sweepers.

  • Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex issues with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components.

  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess system performance and determine necessary repairs.

  • Replace or repair parts as needed, including pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and hoses.

  • Perform oil changes, brake inspections, and other routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines.

  • Ensure all repairs meet industry standards and safety regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and maintenance schedules.

  • Communicate effectively with the team, reporting progress and potential issues.

  • Follow all safety protocols and work in a clean, organized manner.


Requirements


  • CDL is a preferred

  • Experience: Minimum [3] years of experience as a diesel mechanic or hydraulic technician (preferred).

  • Certifications: ASE certification or equivalent in diesel mechanics (preferred).

  • Proficiency in hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and heavy equipment maintenance.

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Experience using diagnostic tools and computer-based software.

  • Physical ability to work with heavy equipment and tools, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
