Job summary

Commercial Tire Inc in Pasco, WA is seeking a Mechanic to inspect and service vehicles, perform preventive maintenance, tire rotations, balancing, alignments, oil changes, and fluid exchanges. This is a full-time, hourly position with monthly bonus eligibility.

You will diagnose problems, communicate findings to the front counter, and perform repairs to brakes, steering, suspension, transmission, and related systems.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years related experience and/or technical training.
• ASE A4 and A5 certifications.
• 609 AC certification is required for air conditioning service repair.
• ASE A6 – Electrical Systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Completed vehicle inspection every time and communicates to the front counter the items that may need to be repaired.
• Consistently inspect and recommend needed repairs and/or services using the vehicle inspection report.
• Perform vehicle alignments according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Maintain shop equipment and safety practices.
• Detect and perform mechanical issues, installation and repairs to brake, steering, suspension, transmission etc.
• Service customer vehicles according to Commercial Tire's guidelines.
• Recommend products and services as needed.
• May initiate purchase orders for parts; support and track purchasing and returns.
• Complete all training within 1 year and maintain certifications.
• Assist with phones, front counter, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, replacing filters, and fluid exchanges.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS – Required.

• Minimum age requirement: 18 years
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• 3 to 5 years related experience and/or technical training.
• ASE certification A4 and A5
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Demands:

• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces
• Frequent lifting/carrying: up to 50 lbs
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity
• Constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication required
• Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions
• Occasional work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environments
• Occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment and moving objects

Equipment Operated:

• Computer and Keyboard
• Tire machines, compressors, air tools and hand tools
• Company-provided software and system for work orders and inventory
• Required to use protective gear (PPE)
