Job summary

Commercial Tire in Boise, ID is seeking a Mechanic to inspect and service vehicles, perform preventive maintenance such as tire rotation, balance, alignments, oil changes, and fluid exchanges. You will communicate needed repairs to the front counter and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires 3–5 years of related experience, ASE A4 and A5 certifications, and a valid driver’s license. Comprehensive benefits are offered in a full-time, on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test vehicles; perform preventive maintenance including tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, filters and fluids.
• Communicate vehicle inspection findings to front counter and advise on repairs or services.
• Perform alignments per manufacturer specifications; maintain shop equipment and safety practices.
• Identify, repair or replace mechanical components (brakes, steering, suspension, transmission).
• Assist with parts purchasing, work orders, and returns; complete training to maintain certifications.

Job Title: Mechanic

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, replacing filters, and fluid exchanges.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completed vehicle inspection every time and communicates to the front counter the items that may need to be repaired.
• Consistently Inspect and recommend needed repairs and/or services using the vehicles inspection report.
  • Proper completion of Vehicle Inspection Report
• Perform vehicle alignments according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Responsible for maintaining shop equipment and safety practices.
• Detect and perform mechanical issues, installation and repairs to brake, steering, suspension, transmission etc.
• Service customer vehicles according to Commercial Tires guidelines.
• Recommend products and services as needed.
• May initiate purchase orders for parts; support and track purchasing and returns.
• Completes all necessary training within 1 year and is required to maintain certifications.
  • ASE A7 – Heat and Air Systems or 609 AC
  • ASE A6 – Electrical Systems
• 609 AC certification is required for air conditioning service repair.
• Participates in and completes all required training (example: Valvoline, TIA, safety, etc.).
• Supports company safety and operational standards and adheres to all audit requirements.
• Assist with phones, front counter, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

Physical Demands:
