Job summary

New Weds Foods is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift (3:00 pm to 11:30 pm) in Pendleton, OR. The role focuses on preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to production machinery to improve reliability and glove quality.

Responsibilities include machine setup/repair, maintenance routines, equipment installation, data recording, and on-call coverage. Strong teamwork and knowledge of GMP/OSHA are required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology or equivalent education, experience and training.
• 1-5 years of food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance jargon and best practices; OSHA and safety awareness.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and production needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine set up and repair of assembly and packaging equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment.
• Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
• Assist in production/maintenance related assignments as needed.
• Communicate issues and resolve safety/quality concerns with staff.
• Record maintenance data to monitor equipment performance (work orders, time cards).
• Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
• Participate in overtime and provide on-call coverage as needed.
• Flex schedule to cover absences and business needs.

Essential Functions:

• Perform machine set up and repair assembly and packaging equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment.
• Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
• Assist in Production/Maintenance related assignments as needed.
• Communicate regarding issues and problem solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns.
• Record maintenance data as directed by the Maintenance Manager to monitor equipment performance, i.e. work orders, time cards
• Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
• Participate in overtime assignments as required.
• Provide “on call” coverage as needed.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders ability to work atheights.
• Perform other various similar and related duties as required by the Manager.
• Ability to flex schedule to cover absences and business needs

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology field and or equivalent Education, Experience and Training.
• 1-5 years Food Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Through knowledge of Maintenance jargon, Maintenance Best Practices Knowledge; OSHA, safety, etc.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment
• Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and Production needs.

Work Environment:

The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
