Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking a Mechanic in North Charleston, SC to maintain and service a diverse fleet including diesel trucks and landscaping equipment. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance while upholding Ruppert's safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes a safety-first mindset, tool readiness, and strong communication as part of a collaborative in-house fleet team. This position is based in North Charleston with Monday–Friday schedule and 40–45 hours

Qualifications

• Safety-first mindset and adherence to safety regulations.
• Minimum of one year of hands-on mechanical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment.
• Ability to supply personal tools as needed.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Recondition vehicles and equipment to meet company standards and safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records.
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency and quality.
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned.

Where You Fit In

As a Mechanic on our in-house fleet team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. This role is essential in upholding our company's image and keeping our operations teams working safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
• Recondition vehicles and equipment per company schedule to ensure they meet company image standards and are safe, reliable, and ready for use
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned

Reports To: Shop Manager

Reporting Location: North Charleston, SC

Schedule: Monday-Friday, averaging approximately 40-45 hours per week, based on business needs.
