Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking a Mechanic to support our in-house fleet team in Durham, NC. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of diesel and gas trucks, power equipment, mowers, trailers, and other landscape tools, ensuring reliability and safety across our operations.

This role requires a safety-first mindset, at least one year of mechanical experience, and the ability to supply personal tools.

Qualifications

• Safety-first mindset and adherence to regulations.
• At least 1 year of hands-on mechanical experience.
• Experience with diesel engines and landscape equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment (power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers).
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to meet image and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Document and maintain service and repair records.
• Provide excellent internal customer service and communication.
• Assist with other operational tasks as needed.

Where You Fit In

As a Mechanic on our in-house fleet team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. This role is essential in upholding our company's image and keeping our operations teams working safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to ensure they meet company image standards and are safe, reliable, and ready for use
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• A safety-first mindset with a commitment to adhering to safety regulations and promoting safe work practices
• Minimum of one year of hands-on mechanical experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment
• Ability to supply personal tools as needed to perform the role
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
• Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required
