Job summary

A logistics organization in South Carolina is seeking an experienced Mechanic to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and experience as a Service Technician. Key responsibilities include onsite repairs and upholding safety standards. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment.
  • Change truck tires and perform maintenance on brakes.
  • Conduct onsite repairs at dirt pit locations.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Mechanic to own diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing standard mechanical, electrical, and any other components of a wide variety of machines and trucks, including but not limited to heavy construction equipment. The Mechanic will report to the Dispatcher and play a key role in maintaining company assets and performing maintenance per a prescribed schedule, in addition to troubleshooting maintenance issues as they arise.

Requirements
  • Preform repairs and preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment
  • Perform tasks such as changing truck tires, oil, maintenance on breaks and change brakes
  • Visits to dirt pit locations for onsite repairs
  • Has basic knowledge on how to plan equipment and component repairs
  • Assists in the rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining of equipment and components
  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment is desired
Qualifications
  • Commitment and connection to our company values
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience (minimum of 3 years) as Service Technician or similar position
  • High School Diploma required
  • Experience with the following equipment preferred
  • Kenworth W900 tractor trailer
  • Kenworth W990 Triaxle Dump Trucks
  • End dump trailers / pneumatic tankers
  • Ability to read, writes, comprehend and communicate service and technical information
  • Must have a valid DL
  • CDL is preferred but not required at time of hire
