Job summary

SavATree in Mashpee, MA is seeking a mechanic to keep our fleet and equipment in peak condition through repairs and preventive maintenance. You will order parts, document work, and coordinate with managers and field specialists to minimize downtime.

The role requires reading manuals and diagnostic charts, using your own tools, and a valid driver's license. We offer competitive pay, full medical benefits, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Experience with small engine and diesel repair.
• Two-stroke engine knowledge is required.
• Aerial lift (bucket) operation experience desired.
• Spray equipment, tanks and pumps experience preferred.
• Own basic tools for engine repair and maintenance.
• Able to read manuals and diagnostic charts for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of equipment and vehicles to keep fleet ready.
• Order and receive parts and supplies; complete required paperwork.
• Coordinate repairs with Managers and learn from specialists.
• Train field specialists on equipment maintenance when possible.
• Maintain a safe, orderly shop and yard environment.

Job description

What a Day Is Like

As a mechanic your focus will be to ensure that all equipment and vehicles are ready and working as needed through proper completion of repairs and maintenance. You’ll accomplish this by communicating and coordinating major repairs and maintenance with Managers, as well as listening to specialists and reading Vehicle Inspection Reports and prioritizing your work. You’ll be responsible for ordering and receiving parts and supplies, as well as the proper completion of paperwork for the office and vendors. Whenever possible, you’ll train field specialists on equipment maintenance and vehicle operations. You’ll do it all while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment in the Shop and in the Yard.

• Small engine repair experience
• Two-stroke engine repair knowledge
• Diesel engine repair and maintenance experience
• Experience operating and maintaining aerial lifts (bucket) trucks
• Experience with spray equipment, tanks and pumps
• Your own basic tools for engine repair and maintenance
• Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts for purpose of learning and troubleshooting and analyze repair of a mechanical or electrical nature
• Valid Driver’s license required, CDL preferred
• ASE certification a plus
• Must be authorized to lawfully work in the U.S.

Pay is up to $31/hr and includes a $500.00 sign on bonus based on experience.
