Job summary

Green Biz Nursery and Landscaping is seeking a versatile Mechanic to keep a varied fleet running. You’ll diagnose and repair diesel trucks, gas engines, and 2-stroke equipment, from mowers to hydraulic systems, across a fast-paced day.

You’ll use diagnostics and hands-on skills to keep downtime low, collaborate with the operations team, and continually learn as equipment evolves. This role offers a stable, locally rooted shop environment.

Qualifications

• Real-world experience across diesel, gas and small engines.
• Strong diagnostic instincts with attention to detail.
• Comfort with hand and power tools and diagnostic gear.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across our entire fleet.
• Troubleshoot fuel systems, ignition problems, electrical gremlins, and wear.
• Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and know-how to get equipment back in service quickly.
• Work with operations to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.
• Share knowledge and keep learning as equipment evolves.

The Job

If you get bored turning wrenches on the same thing all day, this is your dream job. One morning you're diagnosing a diesel truck, by lunch you're rebuilding a carburetor on a Stihl trimmer, and by afternoon you're tearing into a zero-turn mower deck or troubleshooting hydraulics on a skid steer. We run a huge variety of equipment, and we need a mechanic who loves the challenge of keeping it all running.

This isn't a one-trick shop. Every day brings something different, and every repair keeps our crews out there doing what they do best.

What You'll Work On

• Diesel engines (trucks, heavy equipment, machinery)
• Gas trucks and pickups
• Commercial mowers (zero-turns, stand-ons, walk-behinds)
• 2-stroke equipment (trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, edgers)
• Trailers, hydraulics, electrical systems, and just about anything else that rolls, cuts, or digs

What You'll Do

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across our entire fleet
• Troubleshoot fuel systems, ignition problems, electrical gremlins, and mechanical wear
• Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and good old-fashioned know-how to get equipment back in service fast

What We're Looking For

• Real-world experience across diesel, gas, small engines, and 2-stroke equipment
• Strong diagnostic instincts and attention to detail
• Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic gear
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training is a plus)
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Physically capable of lifting, bending, and working on your feet
• A problem-solver who takes pride in doing the job right
• Someone who shows up, communicates well, and works as part of a team
