Job summary

Magnolia Plumbing, LLC is seeking a knowledgeable Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of commercial vehicles, vacuum/scavenger trucks, and other equipment. You will diagnose diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and perform preventive maintenance to keep vehicles safe and ready for daily operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a diesel, fleet, or heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and commercial vehicles.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL and ASE certifications preferred but required.
  • Must lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, trailers, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and mechanical issues.
  • Repair brakes, suspension, engines, transmissions, and other components.
  • Inspect vehicles for maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance, repairs, and emergency service requests.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation.
  • Communicate repair needs and status with management.
  • Ensure work is completed safely and per company standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Magnolia Plumbing, Inc.’s Laurel-based office is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Magnolia’s fleet of commercial vehicles, vacuum/scavenger trucks, diesel engines, work vans, SUVs, and sedans. This role plays an important part in ensuring our vehicles and equipment remain safe, reliable, and ready to support daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, trailers, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and mechanical issues.
  • Perform repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance, repairs, and emergency service requests as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and commercial vehicles.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and drivetrain systems.
  • Experience working on trucks, trailers, utility vehicles, or construction equipment preferred.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CDL and ASE certifications preferred but required.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
