Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking skilled mechanics to repair and maintain trucks, tools, trailers, and construction equipment at multiple locations. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and keep equipment ready for field use.

The role requires travel to company locations and jobsites as needed, with a strong emphasis on safety and independent prioritization of maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Mechanic or equipment maintenance experience required.
• Experience with trucks, small engines, trailers, and construction equipment preferred.
• Shop lead or shop management experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Dependable, organized, and safety-focused.
• Basic computer or mobile device skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing and able to travel as required.
• Able to lift and handle tools, parts, and equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Company trucks, tools, trailers, and equipment

Key Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Company trucks, tools, trailers, and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Work on small engines, pickup trucks, medium duty trucks and construction equipment
• Manage day-to-day shop operations and keep the shop clean, safe, and organized
• Prioritize repairs and keep equipment ready for the field
• Track maintenance, repairs, parts, and equipment needs
• Order parts and work with outside vendors when needed
• Communicate repair status and equipment issues with supervisors and crews
• Travel to Company locations and jobsites as required for repairs, maintenance, and equipment support
• Follow all Company safety procedures
• Help with other shop and field needs as assigned

Salary Range

• $35.00 - $40.00, depending on position qualifications, job related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
