Job summary

Vortex Companies, LLC is seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to repair and maintain trucks, trailers, and field equipment at multiple sites. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and keep the shop organized and safe.

The role requires experience with heavy equipment, good problem-solving skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel as needed. Bilingual English/Spanish is required to communicate across sites.

Qualifications

• Mechanic or equipment maintenance experience required (reference to trucks, engines, trailers, and construction equipment).
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills are essential.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities while staying safety-focused.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Company trucks, tools, trailers, and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Work on small engines, pickup trucks, and construction equipment.
• Manage day-to-day shop operations and keep the shop clean, safe, and organized.
• Prioritize repairs and keep equipment ready for the field.
• Track maintenance, repairs, parts, and equipment needs; order parts and coordinate with vendors.
• Communicate repair status and equipment issues with supervisors and crews.
• Travel to Company locations and jobsites as required for repairs and equipment support.
• Follow all Company safety procedures.
• Assist with other shop and field needs as assigned.

• Basic computer or mobile device skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be willing and able to travel as required
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
• Able to lift and handle tools, parts, and equipment as needed

Salary Range

• $28.00- $32.00, depending on position qualifications, job related skills and experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
