Communication Data Link in Grimes, IA is seeking a dedicated Mechanic to grow with our shop. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance to keep vehicles in top condition, with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles to identify worn parts and perform diagnostic tests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and component upgrades, and maintain equipment readiness.
• Repair major assemblies and systems, and adjust/align components as needed.
• Verify vehicle performance with test drives and control adjustments.
• Maintain service records and document repairs and maintenance.
• Assist in DOT inspections and keep work area clean and organized.
• Keep inventory stocked and manage supplies and orders.
• Assist with vehicle pickups/deliveries as needed.

Communication Data Link is looking for a Mechanic to join our shop. We are looking for individuals that are looking to continue growing their career and are willing to learn and grow with our company. We will provide as much training as needed to help you succeed in this role.

OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a highly-motivated Mechanic looking for a change in their daily routine.

Must have:

• A desire to learn with a solid foundation of knowledge and experience

JOB DUTIES:

• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and damaged parts.
• Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, and completing winterization procedures
• Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling,and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains,electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics, and making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units
• Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
• Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
• Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
• Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
• Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Perform annual DOT Inspections
• Keep work area, tools and shop equipment clean, organized and in good working condition
• Assist in picking up and/or delivering vehicles and equipment to the shop

LOCATION

Communication Data Link is operating out of Grimes, IA.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday- Friday 7:00am- 5:00 pm Weekend work may be required with little or no notice Work schedule is also determined by season, weather, deadlines, and availability of work. Year-Round Work
